Mr. Benner is a member with the International Waterproofing Association (IWA), Roofing Industry Education Institute (RIEI) and the Construction Specifiers Institute (CSI). His professional affiliations, coupled with 20 years field experience as a roof and waterproofing forensics consultant, keeps him current with industry standards, codes, and testing requirements for a wide variety of roofing and exterior waterproofing applications.

Glenn is ART’s Consulting Department Manager, overseeing all aspects of consulting operations, monitoring for quality and effectiveness as well as serving as Lead Consultant for Facility Asset Management and communications.

Mr. Benner has provided a wide variety of consulting services to the roofing industry, specializing in High Velocity Hurricane Zone and FM insured design, construction requirements and product/ system approval processes.

Representative projects for which Mr. Benner served as principal investigator include:

Mr. Benner was the design lead and manager for the re-roofing design for several properties with category 3 hurricane resistant assemblies; meeting South Florida Costal Wind Uplift requirements. He also monitored the re-roofing of installations, insuring that all specification requirements were met and providing our clients with all necessary project documentation. Mr. Benner’s efforts resulted in the attainment of a full system assembly 20 year NDL warranty, an unprecedented achievement in the industry.

Mr. Benner’s services for this client included the third-party review of architectural plans, details and specifications of the exterior envelope of NASA’s new research center to assure zero tolerance of moisture & air infiltration standards, including prioritization of issues, remedial design and site inspections.

Provided comprehensive analysis of facility’s roof and related components as well as managing all design work addressing replacement of assemblies in a high velocity hurricane zone. Included in the design considerations were installation of a complete system (claddings, fasteners, underlayment, and flashings) that meets or exceeds geographic and insurer wind-uplift requirements.

Mr. Benner was the Lead Project Manager for the project which provided our Client design services and full-time observation of the removal of the existing roof and installation of the new roof system to make certain that the work was done in accordance with the Specifications, FM requirements and good roofing practice. Glenn was the lead for monitoring/scheduling tear-off for compliance with the facility’s zero tolerance of air/moisture infiltration.
