Building Code Compliance Inspection Services

ART routinely provides inspection services for Building Code Compliance, helping Owners and Contractors meet construction schedules in areas where the local building officials are unable to keep up with the residential or commercial construction demands for in-progress inspections. Typical roof assemblies and tasks provided include:

Shingle Roofs:
                  – Compliance with applicable NOA’s
                  – Conformance with RAS 115
                  – Conformance with FBC Section 2322.2

Tile Roofs:

To expedite permit approvals, ART can also provide engineering assistance and Special Engineering Letters, including:

Field withdrawal testing
Statistical analysis of field withdrawal testing in accordance with RAS 111.
ASCE-7 uplift calculations to determine design pressures and edge strip width.
Review of product approvals for proposed roofing assemblies
Development of fastener patterns for base sheet, insulation board and/or roof membrane, based on uplift calculations and extrapolation of fastener requirements based on ASCE-7 system pressures and Product Approval criteria.
Emergency drainage calculations.
Specialty engineering letters for building authorities/permitting, documenting that the proposed system complies with ASCE-7 and the Florida Building Code.
